WHY ORIENTANA GLOW MASKS DO NOT HAVE A PEEL-OFF FORMULA

OUR FIRST APPROACH WITH PEEL-OFF MASKS... While developing the recipe for face masks with plant extracts from the Korean Jeju Islands, we wondered whether it wouldn't be better to use a peel-off type. One of the arguments was the easy removal of the mask from the face. While working on these products, I tested many such masks, but none of them could be removed without a problem. So I wondered where this idea that they were easy to remove came from. Removing such a mask may not require water, but the process of removing it was very painful for my skin. I had the feeling that pulling and peeling it off didn't really suit it. My skin often burned after such masks. WHY DID WE NOT CHOOSE THIS TYPE OF MASKS? When we went to the R&D team with the topic of peel-off masks, our Technologist told us first of all that we would not make a peel-off mask with a natural composition. The fast drying and creation of a coating to be removed from the face in peel-off masks are the responsibility of synthetic polymers, most often Polyvinyl Alcohol (PVA) or others, e.g. Acrylates/Ethylhexyl Acrylate Copolymer. They create a semi-flexible, rigid coating. To create such a coating, they must occupy about 20% of the formulation, which significantly reduces the naturalness of the cosmetic. In addition, to create a peel-off mask, ethyl alcohol is necessary, which evaporates from the skin surface much faster than water, thanks to which the above-mentioned polymers can solidify. In this type of formulation, it is used in an amount of 5-20% . Theoretically, there are alternatives to alcohol or synthetic thickeners, such as alginates, but masks based on natural alginates should be delivered to the customer in powdered form and mixed with water immediately before use. We wanted to have a mask ready to use. WHAT DOES A DERMATOLOGIST SAY ABOUT PEEL-OFF MASKS? From our lab we went to our dermatologist to definitively confirm that Glow Masks cannot be peel off. The dermatologist drew our attention to the fact that despite marketing information, most peel off masks are very difficult to remove from the skin. What's more, the doctor informed us that dermatologists advise against using them frequently. Peel off masks used regularly not only cause irritation but can also damage the skin. When such a mask adheres tightly to the face, when removing the mask, we stretch the skin, which can lose its firmness as a result. Peel off masks cause a reduction of natural oils in the facial skin, which contributes to dryness and irritation. WHAT ARE NATURAL GLOW ORIENTANA MASKS? As a result of long work and consultations, and also taking into account the arguments that a peel-off mask cannot have such a natural composition that would satisfy us and can irritate and stretch the skin, we have created masks that are washable masks. It is best to wash them off with a sponge soaked in warm water. They wash off without a problem, leaving perfectly cared for and fresh skin.
