It's not about 90% pure snail slime

Pure snail slime (i.e. filtrate of snail secretion ) is very sticky, thick and difficult to use on its own. That is why snail slime filtrate is used in cosmetics - an ingredient that has been purified, diluted and technologically processed to be stable, have the right consistency and be suitable for formulation.

"90%" refers to the concentration in the water base

In products such as essences or tonics, where the water phase constitutes a large part of the formula, snail slime filtrate can actually constitute 90% of the entire formulation , replacing e.g. water ( aqua ). That is, the composition is 90% water with snail slime.

It could also be a marketing ploy.
