TYPES OF COSMETIC ACIDS FOR THE FACE

WHAT ARE COSMETIC ACIDS FOR THE FACE?

Cosmetic acids for the face, although they sound a bit sinister, are not a tool of torture at all. Quite the opposite, they are chemical compounds with truly beneficial properties that perfectly care for the skin of the face, improve its overall condition and give it a beautiful appearance. Cosmetic acids can be found in peels and other cosmetics for cleansing the skin, but they can also be used in stand-alone therapies. They all work similarly, mainly deep cleansing, but each of the types of cosmetic acids available on the market has something to distinguish it from the others.

WHAT ARE THE TYPES OF COSMETIC ACIDS?

There are three basic types of cosmetic acids:

  • alpha-hydroxy acids (AHA) – the most powerful, perfect for combating discoloration, enlarged pores and wrinkles;
  • beta-hydroxy acids (BHA) – have anti-inflammatory effects, effectively reduce blemishes and other unwanted skin changes;
  • polyhydroxy acids (PHA) – with a rather mild effect, successfully reduce redness, soothe swelling and stimulate cell turnover.

These are the most popular types of cosmetic acids used in modern cosmetology. They cleanse the skin at different levels, which is why each of them is recommended for a different skin type.

HOW TO SELECT COSMETIC ACIDS FOR YOUR SKIN?

When choosing the right types of cosmetic acids for your face, you should be guided solely by the needs of your skin. Each skin type has different requirements. For example, oily and acne-prone skin primarily needs to regulate the sebaceous glands, which is why BHA acid will be right for it. PHA acid will work best for sensitive and vascular skin. On the other hand, AHA acid will be best for combination, dry and mature skin.

WHAT ARE THE PROPERTIES OF COSMETIC ACIDS FOR THE FACE?

Cosmetic acids for the face have a cleansing effect - their main task is to exfoliate calloused, dead skin and as a result stimulate skin cell renewal. Most cosmetic acids for the face, especially in high concentration, also activate the production of collagen and elastin, which restores skin firmness and reduces the visibility of wrinkles. Some types of cosmetic acids also have strong antibacterial effects.

HOW TO CARE FOR YOUR FACE AFTER USING COSMETIC ACIDS?

Therapy with cosmetic acids is not very gentle for the skin, so after such a treatment it is worth reaching for a cream that will help it regenerate quickly. A good choice would be, for example, kali muesli face cream for the day or soothing night kali muesli facial treatment . They have a strengthening and smoothing effect, and additionally support the reconstruction of the lipid coat, the natural protective barrier of our skin.
