WHICH COSMETICS HYDRATE THE SKIN?

WHY IS IT WORTH HYDRATION OF YOUR SKIN? Moisturizing and hydrating are key elements of proper skin care, especially important for those with dry and mature skin. Why? Because dry and dehydrated skin does not look very attractive: it is gray, tired and sagging, it is easily irritated and ages faster. So if you want your skin to look beautiful and stay healthy for many years, try to constantly take care of its proper level of moisture and hydration. HOW CAN YOU HYDRATE YOUR SKIN? The skin can be hydrated in two ways: from the inside and from the outside. The basis is of course the intake of the right amount of fluids (approx. 2 liters a day). It is worth noting, however, that fluids supplied to the body can come not only from drinks, but also from food products, such as fruits and vegetables, such as apples, oranges, radishes or cucumbers, which consist of 80% - 90% water. External hydration, in turn, will be provided by properly selected natural cosmetics. WHICH NATURAL COSMETICS PROMOTE HYDRATION? When choosing skin hydrating cosmetics, it is essential to pay attention to their composition, especially the active ingredients contained in them, because the effect of the preparation depends mainly on these ingredients. Let's reach for natural cosmetics in the form of creams and masks, containing saffron, aloe and other herbs that store large amounts of water, and bio serum, stimulating the production of hyaluronic acid, which perfectly binds moisture in the skin. WHAT ARE THE BEST COSMETICS FOR HYDRATION OF THE SKIN? Our offer includes many skin hydrating cosmetics, including: natural bio face serum brahmi & hyaluronic acid ; hydrotherapy with saffron ; hydrotherapy with turmeric ; natural silk face mask with ginkgo biloba and aloe ; natural glow mask pink cherry . Each of these natural cosmetics has a multifaceted and comprehensive moisturizing effect, which means that it hydrates both the epidermis and the deep layers of the skin, and additionally prevents water loss from cells. HOW OFTEN SHOULD YOU HYDRATE YOUR SKIN WITH NATURAL COSMETICS? Skin hydrating cosmetics should be used as needed. If our skin is only slightly dehydrated, let's limit the daily use of natural moisturizing cosmetics to bio serum or hydrotherapy. However, in the case of very dry and dehydrated skin, it is worth additionally enriching its care with masks. Let's remember that skin hydrating cosmetics, such as bio serum or hydrotherapy, can be used not only on the face, but also on other parts of the body, such as the neck and décolleté - they also need hydration.

THE MOST COMMON FACIAL CARE MISTAKES

WHY IS PROPER FACIAL SKIN CARE SO IMPORTANT? Beautiful and well-groomed facial skin is a guarantee of attractiveness. Therefore, if you want to feel beautiful and young, do not forget about daily skin care using natural facial cosmetics and avoid mistakes that instead of improving the condition of the skin, will only worsen it. In extreme cases, improper care can even lead to skin problems such as acne or psoriasis. WHAT FACIAL CARE MISTAKES SHOULD YOU AVOID? The most common mistakes in facial care that we should avoid are: imprecise make-up removal using too many cosmetics incorrect order of applying cosmetics using high-chemical products instead of natural facial cosmetics Our complexion can also be damaged by changing cosmetics too often. Remember that when we reach for a new face cream, we should give it some time to work. Only after a few weeks will we be able to assess its actual effectiveness. Choosing the right cosmetics is also very important in proper facial care - even the best cream can harm our complexion if it is not matched to its condition and condition. WHY SHOULD WE MATCH COSMETICS TO OUR SKIN? Using the same cosmetic all the time is not a good idea, because our skin changes with age, just as its needs change. When choosing natural cosmetics for the face, it is worth considering these variables. Before you reach for a cream from the store shelf, determine what type of skin you have and what skin problems you are currently struggling with, and then - with these two issues in mind - choose the right cosmetic. WHICH NATURAL FACE COSMETICS SHOULD I USE? Among the wide selection of natural facial cosmetics, you can easily find products for every skin type and for various skin conditions. You can reach for, for example, a hydrotherapy with turmeric, which is a good solution for acne, a soothing kali musli facial treatment for the night that perfectly soothes irritations, or a rich cream with saffron intended for people with sensitive, dry, vascular and mature skin. All of these natural face cosmetics are healthy, safe and very effective. WHICH CARE TREATMENTS SHOULD NOT BE FORGOTTEN? Peeling and toning are still underestimated beauty treatments, but they are so important for maintaining good facial skin condition. The purpose of peeling is to thoroughly cleanse the skin of all impurities, excess sebum and remnants of make-up, while toner helps maintain the right pH level. We should not forget about using an eye cream either - a regular face cream cannot replace it, because the skin around the eyes is much more delicate and requires different treatment than the rest of the face.

Oxidative stress - mechanisms, effects and methods of counteracting

Oxidative stress is a state of imbalance between the production of reactive oxygen species (ROS) and the body's ability to neutralize them with antioxidants. Under physiological conditions, ROS perform important regulatory and signaling functions in the body, but their excess leads to damage to biomolecules, which can result in serious health consequences. Contemporary research indicates a key role of oxidative stress in the pathogenesis of many chronic diseases, including atherosclerosis, neurodegenerative diseases, type 2 diabetes, and cancer (Liguori et al., 2018). 2. What is oxidative stress? Oxidative stress is a disturbance of redox homeostasis that results from excessive production of ROS or impaired functioning of antioxidant systems. ROS are oxygen molecules containing an unpaired electron, which makes them highly reactive and capable of damaging proteins, lipids, and DNA. The most important ROS include superoxide anion (O₂•⁻), hydrogen peroxide (H₂O₂), and hydroxyl radical (•OH) (Sies, 2017). The body has a number of protective mechanisms that allow it to neutralize excess ROS, but their failure or excessive exposure to prooxidant factors can lead to oxidative stress and cellular damage. 3. Causes of oxidative stress 3.1 External factors Oxidative stress can be caused by numerous environmental factors that increase ROS production. The most important include: • Air pollution – exposure to heavy metals (e.g. lead, cadmium) and smog particles may induce the formation of free radicals (Valavanidis et al., 2013). • UV radiation – intense exposure to ultraviolet radiation leads to the formation of ROS in the skin, which may contribute to photoaging and skin cancer (Wang et al., 2017). • Tobacco smoking – Tobacco smoke contains over 4,000 chemicals, many of which have pro-oxidant effects, leading to chronic oxidative stress (Pryor & Stone, 1993). 3.2 Internal factors • Unhealthy lifestyle – inappropriate diet low in antioxidants, lack of physical activity and chronic psychological stress may increase oxidative stress (Furukawa et al., 2017). • Chronic diseases – diabetes, hypertension and obesity lead to increased production of ROS, which may further exacerbate the course of these diseases (Rani et al., 2016). 4. Symptoms and effects of oxidative stress Long-term oxidative stress leads to cumulative damage to biomolecules, which increases the risk of chronic diseases. 4.1 Cellular damage • Proteins – oxidation of proteins causes them to misfold and lose function, which can lead to neurodegeneration (Butterfield & Halliwell, 2019). • Lipids – lipid peroxidation of cell membranes leads to their destabilization and cell death (Ayala et al., 2014). • DNA – ROS-induced mutations are associated with carcinogenesis and aging processes (Cooke et al., 2003). 4.2 Diseases related to oxidative stress Research indicates that oxidative stress plays a key role in the pathogenesis of numerous diseases, such as: • Atherosclerosis – oxidation of LDL lipoproteins contributes to the formation of atherosclerotic plaque (Stocker & Keaney, 2004). • Neurodegenerative diseases – excessive production of ROS in the brain is associated with Parkinson's and Alzheimer's disease (Barnham et al., 2004). • Cancer – chronic oxidative stress promotes mutations and neoplastic transformation (Reuter et al., 2010). 5. Mechanisms of protection against oxidative stress The body has natural mechanisms to neutralize excess ROS. 5.1 Enzymatic antioxidants • Superoxide dismutase (SOD) – catalyzes the conversion of superoxide anion to the less reactive hydrogen peroxide. • Catalase (CAT) – breaks down hydrogen peroxide into water and oxygen. 7:08 Anna Wasilewska • Glutathione peroxidase (GPx) – reduces hydrogen peroxide and lipid peroxides (Halliwell & Gutteridge, 2015). 5.2 Non-enzymatic antioxidants • Vitamins C and E – neutralize free radicals, protecting lipids and proteins from oxidation. • Glutathione – a major intracellular antioxidant that plays a key role in detoxification (Lu, 2013). 6. Prevention and treatment of oxidative stress 6.1 Antioxidant-rich diet Eating foods rich in polyphenols, vitamins, and minerals can reduce oxidative stress. The best sources of antioxidants include: • Berries, grapes, green tea (flavonoids) • Leafy vegetables (carotenoids) • Nuts and seeds (vitamin E) 6.2 Antioxidant supplementation In case of antioxidant deficiencies, supplementation with vitamin C, E, coenzyme Q10 or resveratrol may be indicated (Lobo et al., 2010). 6.3 Lifestyle changes • Regular physical activity of moderate intensity reduces the level of oxidative stress (Radak et al., 2013). • Avoiding smoking and exposure to air pollution reduces the production of ROS. 7. Summary Oxidative stress is a significant risk factor for the development of chronic diseases. Controlling it through a healthy diet, physical activity and reducing environmental factors can significantly contribute to improving health and slowing down the aging process. Modern research focuses on finding new methods to counteract the effects of oxidative stress, which may be crucial in preventing many diseases.

How to care for dyed hair – 7 rules that will save your color and shine

Dyed hair is not only a new color and a fresh look - it also means new care needs. Coloring, especially chemical coloring, weakens the hair structure, exposing it to dryness, loss of shine and brittleness. If you want to enjoy a beautiful color for as long as possible, it is worth taking care of your hair consciously and comprehensively. In this post, we will tell you how to effectively care for dyed strands with the help of natural, trichological cosmetics from the Lychee series by Orientana . You only need four cosmetics! DYED HAIR requires Gentle cleansing Shampoo really does matter. After colouring, hair often becomes more sensitive, loses its natural resistance and can be prone to drying out. That is why choosing the right shampoo becomes crucial in daily care. Ordinary, strongly cleansing products can be too aggressive on delicate strands and wash out the pigment from the hair. That is why it is worth reaching for a shampoo that not only effectively cleanses, but also acts gently on the scalp and the hair itself. The moisturizing trichological shampoo Lychee from Orientana is based on natural ingredients such as ectoine, enzymes and prebiotics. Thanks to them, it not only cleanses the hair of excess sebum and impurities, but also soothes the scalp and protects the freshly applied color. Its moisturizing effect helps maintain an optimal level of moisture in the hair structure, which is especially important for strands exposed to chemical treatments. You don't have to wash your hair every day. In the case of colored locks, it is enough to do it every 2-3 days to avoid excessive drying. It is also worth avoiding vigorous rubbing with a towel - instead, it is better to gently squeeze out the water with a soft microfiber towel. 2. Deep hydration and regeneration – your care base Hair quickly loses its elasticity and resilience after colouring. With the loss of natural lipids, its structure becomes porous, and therefore more susceptible to breakage and frizz. That is why the use of conditioners and masks with regenerative effects is an essential element of care. The Lychee trichological mask-conditioner from Orientana is a cosmetic that, thanks to the presence of the advanced FiberHance™ bm solution complex, effectively rebuilds the internal structure of the hair. Additionally, tsubaki oil gives the strands softness and shine, and pracaxi oil has a nourishing and smoothing effect. Regular use of this mask, not only as a treatment once a week, but also as a conditioner after each wash, allows you to significantly improve the condition of your hair. Hair becomes elastic, smoother and more resistant to breakage. Thanks to intensive moisturization, the locks regain a healthy look, are easier to comb and beautifully styled. 3. Strengthening and stimulating growth – because healthy bulbs = strong hair Dyeing affects not only the hair shaft, but also the scalp and bulbs. A well-nourished scalp is the foundation of healthy and strong hair. For this purpose, it is worth including a lotion in your care, which stimulates microcirculation and supports the growth of new, strong strands. Orientana Lychee trichological lotion is a cosmetic that works comprehensively - thanks to the content of arginine, Baicapil™ extract and sodium lactate, it supports blood circulation in the scalp, which in turn stimulates hair follicles to work. Hair bulbs become better nourished, and therefore healthier and more active. The effect? Less hair loss and faster growth. It is best to apply the lotion in the evening – after washing or on dry scalp – and massage your hair with your fingertips for a few minutes. This will not only improve the absorption of active ingredients, but will also relax and stimulate the skin to regenerate. 4. Protection against external factors – sun, wind and styling Colored hair is particularly vulnerable to UV radiation, wind, urban pollution and everyday mechanical damage. To maintain the intensity of the color and the healthy appearance of the hair, it is necessary to protect it properly. The smoothing serum from the Lychee series by Orientana is a product that creates an invisible, light protective layer on the hair surface. Gluconolactone and lactic acid smooth the hair structure, facilitate combing and reduce the risk of breakage. Importantly, the serum can be used both on damp hair after washing, and on dry hair - as the last stage of styling. Regular use of protective cosmetics helps not only to maintain the colour, but also to limit the impact of harmful external factors, thanks to which the hair remains healthy and shiny for longer. 5. Limit high temperatures – heat = loss of color A hair dryer, a straightener, a curling iron – all of these devices emit high temperatures that can be fatal to colored hair. High temperatures open the hair cuticles, which causes the pigment to wash out faster, and the hair itself becomes dry and dull. That's why it's worth limiting heat styling to a minimum. Instead of hot air, choose cool or lukewarm air, which will also dry your hair well without damaging its structure. If you reach for a straightener or curling iron, remember about thermal protection - Lychee serum will work perfectly in this role. It's also worth testing alternatives: rollers, overnight braids or headband styling will allow you to achieve beautiful waves without heat. Your hair will certainly appreciate it - it will be more flexible, less brittle and will retain its color for longer. 6. Take care of your color – everyday pigment protection Hair color doesn't fade just because of the sun. It's also affected by everyday habits: too hot water when washing, chlorine from the pool, air pollution or using too strong shampoos. All of this leads to a gradual loss of color intensity. To prevent this, it is worth washing your hair in lukewarm water and - if possible - using boiled or filtered water for the final rinse. Products from the Lychee series are free from SLS and SLES, so they do not wash out the color, while at the same time effectively caring. In the summer, it is good to have a hat or scarf with you - they not only protect the head from overheating, but also provide a barrier to UV rays, which are the enemy of permanent color. 7. Regular cuts and professional support Dyed hair, especially at the ends, tends to dry out and split. Even the best-cared-for locks will not avoid the need for regular trimming. By trimming the ends every 6-8 weeks, you will not only maintain the aesthetics of your hairstyle, but also prevent further damage to the hair structure. Don't be afraid of visiting a hair salon either - professional regenerating treatments, such as keratin reconstructions, nourishing ampoules or steam saunas, can significantly improve the condition of your hair without damaging the color. A combination of conscious home care with occasional support from a hairdresser is a recipe for lasting color and healthy, shiny strands. Summary – natural care is the best investment Daily care of dyed hair requires attention and conscious choices. Instead of experimenting with random products, it is worth trusting proven solutions - such as the Trycho Lychee series from Orientana. Thanks to natural ingredients, effective formulas and gentle action, these cosmetics allow not only to take care of the durability of the color, but above all to rebuild the structure of the hair and support a healthy scalp. Well-chosen care is not a luxury – it is daily care that pays off with healthy, beautiful and shiny hair. If you love your color, let it stay with you as long as possible – with the help of Orientana.

Natural Cosmetics

What are natural cosmetics? Natural cosmetics are nothing more than cosmetics in which the ingredients are of natural origin. What does this mean? Natural cosmetics do not have their own legal definition, natural products should have a declared percentage of naturalness above 90%. The remaining 10% are ingredients that do not have their natural equivalents, and are necessary to produce the cosmetic and maintain its properties and microbiological purity. Natural cosmetics may contain preservatives that are strictly defined, ingredients that naturally occur e.g. in fruits - e.g. benzoic acid, sorbic acid, benzyl alcohol, dehydroacetic acid. Why are natural cosmetics better than conventional ones? Natural cosmetics are based on natural extracts, hydrolates and oils. We obtain from nature what is best and most effective. Based on active ingredients, we create effective care. Thanks to this, the entire cosmetic has unique properties. The base of a conventional cream in most cases is a synthetic water-fat mixture to which about 5% of active ingredients are added. What are the properties of natural cosmetics? Cosmetics based on natural ingredients have a huge number of properties. In nature, there are countless mushrooms, herbs, fruits, rhizomes, seeds and minerals. It is not difficult to find those that contain the right vitamins, amino acids or fatty acids. Thanks to modern technologies, we are able to extract the most valuable ingredients on the basis of which we can create a unique recipe. Combining the right ingredients allows you to achieve a brightening , anti-wrinkle , sebaceous gland regulating, anti-acne , smoothing or any other effect you choose. The possibilities are endless, just like natural raw materials. Natural cosmetics are environmentally friendly Natural cosmetics are products that create a zero-waste trend, they use recycled plastic and glass. Thanks to this, waste creation is reduced, and many of them gain a new life and are reused. We replace plastic with glass, reduce the amount of foil, and ecologically pack orders. We are close to nature, and we also spread awareness among society. Why is it worth investing in natural cosmetics? Truly natural cosmetics, which are rich in high-quality plant active ingredients, are distinguished by their effectiveness. Unfortunately, in the natural category, we increasingly find products that are natural only in name. They contain natural ingredients with a high degree of processing, which causes them to lose their original properties and are chemically changed. That is why it is extremely important to check the labels and not just be guided by the ecological appearance of the packaging. Unfortunately, the phenomenon of greenwashing, advertising conventional cosmetics as natural or ecological, is becoming increasingly popular.

CLAY MASKS - WHAT ARE THEIR PROPERTIES AND APPLICATIONS

WHAT PROPERTIES DO CLAY MASKS HAVE? Clay has been used to enhance beauty since ancient times, where it was used not only to cleanse the complexion, but also to reduce inflammation and skin problems. Today, clay is the main ingredient in face masks created based on Ayurvedic recipes - they have a cleansing, soothing, antibacterial and remineralizing effect. The caring and healing properties of a clay mask have quickly made this cosmetic product popular on the cosmetic market, especially since the use of a clay mask is versatile. WHAT IS INCLUDED IN CLAY MASKS? Clay masks owe their extraordinary properties to, among other things, kaolin clay, also known as porcelain clay. This is a mineral with a delicate consistency extracted from deep within the earth, containing a large amount of aluminum silicate and micro and macro elements such as: potassium phosphorus calcium magnesium iron Clay masks also contain vegetable oils, which give them a pleasant, oriental scent and enhance their beneficial effects. HOW TO USE CLAY MASKS? Clay masks are applied to thoroughly cleansed skin - they are spread evenly over the entire surface of the face, avoiding the eye and mouth areas, and then left for about 20 minutes. During this time, the mask hardens slightly, making it easy to remove. This procedure can be repeated once or twice a week, not more often, because the masks' effect is quite intense. It is worth adding that the uses of a clay mask are versatile - it can be applied not only to the skin of the face, but also to the neckline and even the back. WHAT ARE THE EFFECTS OF USING CLAY MASKS? Thanks to their unique properties, clay masks can effectively improve the appearance of the skin - smooth it, firm it and brighten it. Using a clay mask can also effectively help fight skin changes, because this cosmetic has a strong soothing, bactericidal and cicatrizing effect, which narrows pores, minimizes inflammation and reduces acne scars. It is to such properties, among others, that clay masks owe their fame. WHICH CLAY MASK SHOULD I CHOOSE? If we want our skin to look beautiful and healthy, remember to choose and use a clay mask appropriately. People with oily skin should reach for a natural neem and tea tree clay mask , for people with normal or dry skin the best choice will be a natural almond and saffron clay mask , and for combination skin you can use a natural ginger and lemongrass clay mask . Let's also remember to always follow the manufacturer's recommendations on the packaging of each of these cosmetics.

Ayurvedic Skin Care in June - Grishma Ritu

In Ayurveda, June is a transitional month between Grishma Ritu (summer season) and Varsha Ritu (rain/monsoon season) . It is a time of changeable weather, rising temperatures, first storms and a drop in vitality , which is why Ayurveda places special emphasis on cooling, grounding and strengthening digestion . In Poland, June is the full moon of Grishma Ritu , and here it is also a time of higher temperatures, dryness and muggy weather. Therefore, in June it is good to change your care and eating habits, introduce a few small changes to your life that will help us function this month. See what you can do and what Ayurvedic skin care looks like in June. Grishma Ritu – Time to Cool Down Pitta Dosha In Ayurveda, June is the moment when Grishma Ritu ends, the summer season dominated by Pitta dosha – the elements of fire and water. Under the influence of increasing heat, Pitta intensifies , leading to overheating of the body, dehydration and weakening of the digestive fire ( Agni ). This is the time when the body and skin especially need cooling, hydration and calming down . The diet should be mild and cooling , based on juicy, watery fruits – such as mango, cucumbers or watermelons (important: not icy!). In Poland, we should eat strawberries and raspberries. That is when they are most abundant and see how nature tells us what is good for our body. It is worth reaching for aloe juice, coconut water and mint and fennel infusions , which help cool the body from the inside. Fried, spicy and hard to digest dishes should be avoided. Body care is equally important – Ayurveda recommends massages with cooling oils , e.g. coconut or sandalwood, at this time, which calm the Pitta dosha and restore comfort to the skin. During this time, the skin may react sensitively and aggressively: become oily and shiny, show hyperreactivity and dilated blood vessels, be irritated by sun, wind and salt water, manifest acne and heat rash. This is the perfect time to introduce Ayurvedic care into our bathroom in the form of products with cooling, anti-inflammatory and sebum-regulating effects , in line with the spirit of Ayurveda and the needs of the skin at the turn of the seasons. The Hydro Tremella series will be perfect. JUNE LIFESTYLE June is the time when Pitta dosha – the combination of fire and water – reaches its peak. The heat, intense sun, dryness and changes in atmospheric pressure can exhaust the body, affect the quality of sleep, digestion and the condition of the skin. Ayurveda recommends living in a rhythm of cooling, calm and protection at this time. Avoid excessive sun exposure and physical exertion during the day In late spring and summer, especially in June, solar radiation reaches its maximum during the day . According to Ayurveda, excessive sun exposure disrupts Pitta dosha , leading to overheating, dehydration, and increased skin problems – such as acne, redness, inflammation, and hypersensitivity. To minimize the negative effects of heat, it is worth avoiding sun exposure between 10:00 and 16:00 , when UV radiation is strongest. During this time, it is best to stay in the shade or cool, airy rooms. This applies not only to rest, but also to physical activity - intense exercise in the heat additionally strains the heart, skin and nervous system. Instead, move your active lifestyle to the mornings or evenings , when the temperature is lower and the air is fresher. Early morning walks , gentle yoga in the evening or in the shade of trees if possible , or breathing practices , such as Sheetali pranayama, a breathing technique known for its cooling and calming effect on the nervous system, are excellent choices. During the day, it is also worth remembering to dress appropriately. Loose, light-colored clothes made of natural fabrics , such as linen or cotton, are able to effectively reflect the sun's rays and allow the skin to breathe freely. Light colors additionally reduce heat absorption, protecting the body from overheating. It is also worth covering the head with a hat or scarf and wearing sunglasses. Sun protection + light serums under SPF In Ayurveda, protection from excessive sun is important, but it is approached holistically. Although traditionally natural filters were used (such as sandalwood paste or sesame oil), modern Ayurveda does not exclude the use of sunscreens - on the contrary, it recommends their use as an element of protection of the Pitta dosha from overheating and skin irritation. However, before you reach for SPF, it is crucial to properly prepare your skin . Ayurvedic care values layered applications – cosmetics based on light but effective ingredients that support the skin's natural resistance to external factors. Serums with a watery consistency are particularly recommended, as they absorb quickly and do not burden the skin, while strengthening its protective barrier. Under the sunscreen, it is worth applying a serum containing adaptogens (e.g. ashwagandha), vitamin C or highly moisturizing tremella – ingredients valued both in modern dermocosmetics and in the Ayurvedic approach to skin balance. They work on multiple levels: – strengthen the hydrolipid barrier , – intensively moisturize without causing a “film” effect on the skin, – reduce inflammation and support the regeneration of the epidermis , making the skin better tolerate SPF even in hot weather. This approach not only ensures greater comfort in wearing filters all day long , but also reduces the risk of pore clogging, irritation and hyperreactivity that often occur with classic filter creams used without prior care. Sleep in an airy, cool room In Ayurveda, sleep is one of the three pillars of health, and its quality directly affects the balance of the doshas, the regeneration of the body and the appearance of the skin. However, during the Grishma Ritu , or summer fire season, sleep can become restless and interrupted . Excessive heat in the body, intense mental activity and hot nights make it difficult to fall asleep and deepen the disorders of the Pitta dosha. To ensure healthy, restorative sleep, it is worth airing the bedroom in the evening , preferably by creating a draft that naturally cools the space. If possible, sleep with an open window or with ventilation not directed directly at the body. Bedding should be light, breathable , made of natural materials such as cotton or linen - these fabrics allow the skin to breathe and do not retain excess heat. Ayurveda also recommends evening foot massages with warm coconut or brahmi oil . This ritual not only brings relief to tired feet, but also grounds, reduces nervous tension and helps to "draw" excess Pitta from the head downwards . It is a simple yet deeply relaxing gesture that makes it easier to fall asleep and improves the quality of sleep. Evening Ayurvedic care should also be enriched with calming practices , such as yoga - deep relaxation - or aromatherapy with the use of oils. The following scents are particularly recommended: sandalwood, jasmine and rose , which according to Ayurveda have cooling and Pitta balancing properties. A few drops of your favorite oil on your pillow or skin can do more than many a sleep supplement. Cooling bath rituals In Ayurveda, bathing in the summer is more than just cleansing the body – it is a way to calm the Pitta dosha and cool the body from the outside. To enhance the cooling effect, it is worth adding to the water: – rose petals – soothe and calm the skin, – sandalwood oil – has a cooling and relaxing effect, – mint or lavender infusion – brings relief to the senses, acts as a natural “air conditioner”. A good complement to bathing are powders made of chickpea flour or clay , which refresh and cleanse the skin without damaging its protective barrier. Perfect for morning or evening care rituals. Limit stimuli – take care of emotional cooling In June, when Pitta energy is at its peak, Ayurveda recommends silence, space, and slowing down . It’s time to deliberately limit anything that overheats the mind as well – too much noise, screens, news. Too many stimuli increase Pitta dosha, leading to irritability, tension and sleep problems. That is why it is worth introducing small calming rituals into the day. Try: – in the evening drink an infusion of fennel or licorice , – sit on the balcony or in the garden and breathe calmly for 10 minutes , – keep a journal with the intention of “I am cooling myself – inside and out.” These are simple ways that help maintain balance not only in the body, but also in emotions. AYURVEDIC CARE IN JUNE FROM ORIENTANA Grishma Ritu , or Ayurvedic hot season, is a time when the skin needs cooling, hydration and protection from irritation . In June, Ayurveda encourages reaching for ingredients that soothe Pitta dosha and support the natural functions of the skin. Ayurvedic morning care CLEANING Orientana Facial Cleansing Foam or Gel → gently removes impurities and excess sebum without damaging the hydrolipid barrier, does not contain SLS/SLES/ALS, aggressive sulphates that may irritate the skin. TONING / ESSENCE Orientana Rose Facial Toner or Snail Slime Essence → light, water-based formula, moisturizes and soothes overheated skin, while having a nourishing and soothing effect. SERUM ampoule WITH ADAPTOGEN ashwagandha Ashwagandha is an adaptogen that supports skin and nervous system balance. Choose the Ampoule Serum depending on your additional skin needs. Serum-Ampoule Moisturizing – Ashwagandha, Trehalose, Hyaluronic Acid This intensively hydrating serum combines adaptogenic ashwagandha with trehalose and hyaluronic acid. It acts as a water compress for dry, dehydrated and irritated skin. The light, gel-like formula absorbs quickly without weighing down the skin For whom? Tremella fuciformis - plant hyaluronic acid and a natural elixir of youth

Tremella , also known as the "snow mushroom" or Tremella fuciformis, is a unique species of mushroom from Asia, especially valued in traditional Chinese medicine. Its delicate, white, jelly-like fruiting bodies delight not only with their appearance, but above all with their extraordinary skin care properties. Tremella has gained popularity in cosmetics and natural medicine as a plant alternative to hyaluronic acid - it effectively moisturizes the skin, improves its elasticity and delays the signs of aging. It is not without reason that Tremella has been the beauty secret of China's most distinguished women for centuries. Legend has it that Empress Yang Guifei - considered one of the most beautiful women in history - regularly reached for Tremella to maintain her youth and radiance. Today, this unique mushroom is conquering the world of cosmetics, delighting with its effectiveness and natural origin. Botanical profile of Tremella Latin name: Tremella fuciformis Tremella fuciformis, also known as the snow mushroom, silver ear mushroom, or silver ear mushroom, is a species of mushroom in the family Tremellaceae. Its name is derived from the Latin word tremere, meaning to tremble, referring to its characteristic, gelatinous consistency. Occurrence and cultivation The natural habitat of Tremella is tropical and subtropical regions of Asia – primarily southern and eastern China, Taiwan and Japan. In China, Tremella fuciformis has been cultivated for hundreds of years, and currently this country accounts for about 95% of the world's production of this mushroom. Up to 120 thousand tons of Tremella are cultivated annually in China alone, making it one of the most commonly cultivated edible mushrooms in Asia. This mushroom grows on dead deciduous wood, especially on the branches of trees of the Cinnamomum or Schima genus. Appearance and morphological features Tremella fuciformis is distinguished by its exceptionally decorative, "coral" shape - its fruiting bodies resemble delicate, irregular, wavy petals. Their gelatinous structure makes them soft and elastic to the touch. The color of the mushroom is white, milky white or slightly transparent, and in a moist environment it acquires a subtle shine. The diameter of a single Tremella fruit body can reach 10–15 cm , and the weight of a fresh mushroom usually ranges from 30 to 80 grams . Due to the high water content (up to 90–95% of the weight of a fresh mushroom), Tremella loses a lot of volume after drying, but retains most of its valuable ingredients. Botanical curiosities Tremella is a parasitic fungus – it needs the presence of other fungi to grow, such as Hypoxylon archeri , on which it colonizes dead wood. This dependency means that its cultivation requires special conditions and knowledge. Tremella is also distinguished by its unique composition of polysaccharides, which are responsible for its incredible moisturizing properties. Studies show that the content of these substances in dried Tremella fruit bodies can reach as much as 60-70% of the dry weight. Tremella's use in various industries Due to its chemical composition, Tremella fuciformis is used not only as a valuable ingredient in cosmetics, but also in functional foods, dietary supplements, pharmaceuticals and innovative biomedical materials. Its potential is still being discovered by scientists around the world! Cosmetology Tremella fuciformis is called "plant hyaluronic acid" and enjoys great popularity in modern cosmetology. Tremella extracts: are used in serums, creams, masks and facial gels, they have a strong moisturizing, smoothing and skin elasticity improving effect, support the regeneration of the epidermis and protect against premature aging, soothe irritations and have an antioxidant effect. Studies show that Tremella polysaccharides can moisturize the skin up to 20% more effectively than traditional hyaluronic acid . Food industry In Asia, Tremella fuciformis is a prized delicacy. It is added to soups, desserts, drinks and sweets: increases the nutritional value of foods, improves consistency (natural thickener), It is used as a low-calorie, high-fiber dietary ingredient. Natural medicine and pharmacy Tremella extracts are used as immune-supporting, anti-inflammatory and antiviral agents. In Traditional Chinese Medicine, this mushroom is recommended for problems with dry skin, dry cough, and insomnia. Modern research confirms that Tremella polysaccharides can support immune processes and have a neuroprotective effect. Biotechnology industry Tremella polysaccharides are used to produce modern biomaterials: can be used to produce biodegradable films and coatings, are tested as a component of biomedical hydrogels with high biocompatibility. Active ingredients and their properties Tremella's active ingredients, especially polysaccharides and beta-glucans, make it one of the most versatile natural elixirs of youth. Thanks to its synergy with vitamins and minerals, Tremella fuciformis not only moisturizes, but also supports the health, regeneration and youthful appearance of the skin - often more effectively than the popular hyaluronic acid. Tremella Polysaccharides – the secret of extraordinary properties The most important active ingredient of Tremella fuciformis are polysaccharides , and among them particularly valuable beta-glucans . In dry Tremella fruit bodies, polysaccharides constitute up to 60–70% of the mass, of which the dominant part are mucopolysaccharides with high molecular weight (up to 1.2 million Da). Properties of Tremella polysaccharides: Strong hydration : Studies have shown that Tremella polysaccharides have an exceptional ability to bind water – they can retain up to 500 times more water than their own weight (Tang et al., 2016). This is a better result than hyaluronic acid, which retains about 1000 times its own weight , but has a slightly different chemical structure and a different effect in the skin. However, Tremella polysaccharides show a longer time of maintaining moisture, and the effect of "moisturized skin" is more noticeable even up to 24 hours after application (Chen et al., 2018). Stimulation of collagen synthesis : In vitro studies have shown that Tremella extracts stimulate fibroblasts to produce type I collagen, helping to improve skin elasticity and reduce fine lines. After 28 days of using a cream with Tremella polysaccharides, an increase in collagen synthesis of about 23% was noted (Li et al., 2017). Antioxidant effect : Tremella polysaccharides effectively neutralize free oxygen radicals. The antioxidant activity of Tremella extracts assessed by the DPPH method reaches up to 83% (at a concentration of 2 mg/ml), which places it among the leading natural protective substances (Zhao et al., 2013). Vitamins and minerals to support skin health Tremella fuciformis contains valuable vitamins and minerals that work synergistically with polysaccharides to support skin condition: Vitamin D (ergocalciferol): helps maintain normal skin structure and supports repair processes. B vitamins : participate in the regeneration of epidermal cells and influence the skin's moisture level. Minerals : Calcium – supports regenerative processes and strengthens the skin's protective barrier, Magnesium – has a soothing and anti-inflammatory effect, Zinc – regulates the function of sebaceous glands, Potassium, iron, phosphorus – support microcirculation and skin nourishment. Comparison to hyaluronic acid Tremella polysaccharides and hyaluronic acid: Tremella polysaccharides bind water similarly effectively, or even better, than hyaluronic acid – their large molecules create a delicate, “breathable” film on the skin surface that retains moisture for a longer time. In clinical tests (Chen et al., 2018), preparations with Tremella showed 28% higher skin hydration after 8 hours compared to preparations with hyaluronic acid. Tremella is better tolerated by people with sensitive skin, and its polysaccharides have additional antioxidant and irritation-soothing effects. The use of Tremella fuciformis in cosmetology Tremella fuciformis has gained recognition as one of the most valuable active ingredients used in modern cosmetology. Its extract is increasingly appearing in the compositions of serums, creams, masks and face gels. Due to its high polysaccharide content, Tremella acts as a “plant-based hyaluronic acid,” providing long-lasting, deep skin hydration. Studies have shown that Tremella polysaccharides can bind water at levels up to 500 times greater than their own weight (Tang et al., 2016), making it one of the most effective natural humectants available in cosmetics. The key cosmetic properties of Tremella include not only intensive hydration, but also improvement of skin elasticity and firmness. Regular use of preparations with Tremella supports the natural synthesis of collagen in the skin. According to research by Li et al. (2017), after four weeks of using a cream with Tremella fuciformis extract, an increase in skin elasticity of up to 23% was noted. In addition, the presence of antioxidants and beta-glucans makes Tremella have an anti-aging effect, reducing the appearance of fine lines and protecting skin cells from the harmful effects of free radicals. A huge advantage of Tremella extract is also its safety of use in people with sensitive and allergy-prone skin . Clinical studies (Chen et al., 2018) have shown that Tremella polysaccharides do not cause irritation, and in fact soothe redness and inflammation of the skin. Thanks to this, cosmetics with this ingredient are also recommended for people with atopic dermatitis, rosacea or eczema. There are few products based on Tremella fuciformis extract available on the market, and Orientana is one of the first brands to use the effects of this fungus in its cosmetics. tremella in orientana cosmetics Moisturizing Serum with Tremella, Exosomes and Lactic Acid 30 ml This modern moisturizing serum created with the needs of combination and normal skin in mind, provides intensive and long-lasting hydration from the first application. Internal action - Tremella supplementation Tremella fuciformis is becoming increasingly popular not only as a cosmetic ingredient, but also as a dietary supplement. This mushroom has been used for centuries in Chinese medicine as a natural agent supporting health and vitality. Modern science confirms that consuming Tremella extract can have a wide, positive effect on the body. One of the most important aspects of Tremella supplementation is its beneficial effect on the immune system . Studies show that the polysaccharides contained in the mushroom, including beta-glucans, stimulate the activity of macrophages and T lymphocytes, strengthening the body's natural protective barrier (Ma et al., 2018). Regular consumption of Tremella extract can help increase resistance to infections and accelerate regenerative processes after illness. Tremella supplementation also has a unique effect on the condition of the skin "from the inside" . Polysaccharides and antioxidants present in the mushroom support skin hydration at the cellular level, improving its elasticity and color. In a clinical study conducted in Japan (2016), after 8 weeks of taking a supplement with Tremella fuciformis, as many as 82% of participants noticed a clear improvement in hydration and smoothing of the complexion . Additionally, Tremella may have a positive effect on energy levels and overall well-being . Due to its B vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants, Tremella supplements support metabolic processes, help combat fatigue, and improve the ability to concentrate. Observational studies have also noted a reduction in the symptoms of oxidative stress in people supplementing with Tremella extract (Yao et al., 2020). Tremella supplementation forms are very diverse, so you can easily adjust them to your own preferences and lifestyle. The following are available on the market: Capsules – convenient for everyday use, precisely dosed, Powders – which can be added to cocktails, yoghurts, smoothies or oatmeals, Functional drinks – ready-made mixtures and drinks based on Tremella extract, often combined with other adaptogens. Tremella supplementation is not only a natural support for the skin, but also strengthens immunity and improves energy and general well-being. Regularly taking products based on Tremella allows you to benefit from its rich profile of active ingredients - both externally and internally. Scientific research and confirmation of effectiveness Tremella fuciformis has been of interest to scientists studying natural ingredients with cosmetic and health-promoting effects for years. In the last decade, a number of laboratory and clinical studies have been conducted that confirm its moisturizing properties and strong antioxidant effects. One of the key studies was an experiment conducted by Prof. Chen's team at Taipei Medical University in 2018. This study compared the moisturizing effects of Tremella fuciformis extract and hyaluronic acid on 40 volunteers with dry skin. The results showed that 8 hours after application, skin hydration levels were 28% higher in the Tremella group than in the hyaluronic acid group (Chen et al., 2018, Journal of Cosmetic Dermatology ). The study authors also emphasized the soothing effect of the extract on skin redness and irritation. Tremella's antioxidant efficacy was confirmed by Dr. Zhao's team from the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. A study published in 2013 showed that Tremella polyphenols and polysaccharides neutralize up to 83% of free radicals in the standard DPPH test (Zhao et al., 2013, Food Chemistry ). This puts this mushroom on a par with the most valued anti-aging raw materials in cosmetology. A 2016 study at Hokkaido University in Japan evaluated the effects of oral supplementation with Tremella for 8 weeks. As many as 82% of participants declared a significant improvement in skin hydration and overall condition compared to placebo. The authors also noted improved elasticity and a slight smoothing of wrinkles ( Hokkaido Journal of Medical Science , 2016). Tremella compares favorably with other adaptogens and medicinal mushrooms . Unlike popular mushrooms such as reishi ( Ganoderma lucidum ) or shiitake ( Lentinula edodes ), Tremella has the highest capacity to bind water and moisturize the skin. Its polysaccharide profile, especially the richness of beta-glucans, makes it a leader among the "mushrooms of youth" with anti-aging effects. Moreover, compared to other plant adaptogens (e.g. ashwagandha, ginseng), Tremella is better tolerated by people with sensitive skin, does not cause allergic reactions and has a stronger humectant effect. Modern scientific research confirms the traditional uses of Tremella fuciformis as an effective moisturizing and antioxidant ingredient – both in cosmetics and supplementation. As a result, Tremella is gaining more and more supporters around the world, and its effectiveness is no longer just a legend of Chinese medicine, but also a documented scientific fact. Who is Tremella ideal for? People with dry, dehydrated skin. People looking for natural anti-aging ingredients. Vegetarians and vegans – an alternative to animal collagen. 8. Summary Tremella as a versatile ingredient – cosmetic and food. A natural way to beautiful, moisturized and youthful skin. Encouragement to try – externally or as a supplement.
